     Mary was born at New Jersey circa 1761. She was the daughter of Samuel Batson and Mary ? She married Joseph Sutton at New Jersey on 26 August 1781. Mary died on 18 March 1842 at Roseville, Byram Township, Sussex County, New Jersey. Her body was interred on 21 March 1842 at Hackettstown, Warren County, New Jersey, at Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

     Samuel was born at New Jersey on 24 March 1782. He was the son of Joseph Sutton and Mary Betson (Batson). He married Elizabeth Slack on 5 January 1807 at Sussex County, New Jersey. He died on 31 December 1879 at Wentworth, Ontario, Toronto, Canada.¹
     Samuel Sutton moved circa 1814 at Flamborough, Ontario, Canada, In 1844, when Samuel sold his interest in his father's estate, he and Elizabeth were living in Flamboro, Canada, where they had moved about 1814. They had seven daughters and three sons, including a John Sutton and a Mrs. Mary Durphy. In 1888, Mrs. Durphy wrote that she had heard her father talk about "old Uncle John" with whom they lived, his grandfather James who " died when he was about 9 or 10", and his uncles Jonathan and Nathan.

     John was born at New Jersey on 24 February 1784. He was the son of Joseph Sutton and Mary Betson (Batson). He married Martha Bates at Sussex County, New Jersey, on 14 September 1812.
     John Sutton moved after 1814 at Beverly, Ontario, Canada, where they were living in 1844, when they sold interest in his father's estate.

     Amos was born at New Jersey on 24 September 1786. He was the son of Joseph Sutton and Mary Betson (Batson).

     David was born at New Jersey on 23 February 1789. He was the son of Joseph Sutton and Mary Betson (Batson).

     Elizabeth was born at Sussex County, New Jersey, on 16 October 1791. She was the daughter of Joseph Sutton and Mary Betson (Batson). She married Abraham Ayers at Sussex County, New Jersey, on 18 February 1811.¹ Elizabeth died on 8 February 1873 at New Jersey at age 81.
     Elizabeth and Archibald bought part of the shares in her father's farm but sold out to George Heberton.

     Joseph was born at New Jersey on 9 June 1794. He was the son of Joseph Sutton and Mary Betson (Batson). He married Marsha Loverline at Warren County, New Jersey, on 24 July 1830. Joseph died circa 1832 at New Jersey.

     Mary was born at New Jersey on 19 August 1797. She was the daughter of Joseph Sutton and Mary Betson (Batson). She married George Heberton at Sussex County, New Jersey, on 1 November 1815.¹ Mary died on 14 November 1868 at New Jersey at age 71. Her body was interred on 17 November 1868 at Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey.
     Mary and George bought her father's homestead by 1847. They later moved to Newark and then to Jersey City. On 25 Apr. 1836, George was appointed administrator of her father's estate and also had to complete the administration of the estate of Joseph Jr..

     Phebe was born at New Jersey on 13 February 1800. She was the daughter of Joseph Sutton and Mary Betson (Batson).

     Martha was born at New Jersey circa 1794. She married John Sutton at Sussex County, New Jersey, on 14 September 1812.

     George was born at Roseville, Byram Township, Sussex County, New Jersey, circa 1833. He was the son of John Sutton and Sarah Wilson. He married Effie C. Gray, daughter of William Gray and Charlotte Park, after July 1860 at New Jersey. He died on 31 August 1901 at Mount Olive Township, Morris County, New Jersey, of paralysis.¹ He was buried in September 1901 at Vienna, Warren County, New Jersey.¹
     George W.      Jane V. Sutton was born circa 1837 at Warren County, New Jersey. She was the daughter of John Sutton and Sarah Wilson. She married Isaac J. Schenck at Hackettstown, Warren County, New Jersey, on 25 December 1854.¹

     Sarah was born at New Jersey in 1766. She was the daughter of Benjamin Coleman and Sarah ? She married Nathan Sutton at New Jersey circa 1790. Sarah died on 8 September 1848 at Northfield Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan. Her body was interred on 11 September 1848 at Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Michigan, at Forest Hill Cemetery.

     Benjamin was born at Roseville, Byram Township, Sussex County, New Jersey, on 10 January 1792. He was the son of Nathan Sutton and Sarah Coleman. He married Elizabeth Raub on 11 March 1813 at Sussex County, New Jersey.¹ Benjamin died on 3 January 1839 at Oakland Cemetery, Petersburg, Menard County, Illinois, at age 46.²
     Benjamin Sutton emigrated circa 1823 from Washtenaw County, Michigan.² He appeared on the census of 1830 at Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Michigan Territory. Census notes:

Sutton and Sarah Ann Rittenbury, on 24 September 1853 at Danville, Independence Township, Warren County, New Jersey.¹ He died on 30 October 1864 at Adams (Reginmental) Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee. He was buried on 30 October 1864 at Memphis National Cemetery, Section H. Site 4055, Memphis, Tennessee.
     Henry Niper appeared on the census of 20 July 1860 in the household of Joseph W. Sutton at Independence Township, Warren County, New Jersey.² He Peter Nipe, father, obtained guardianship of son Henry's daughters Sarah Elizabeth and Catharine following Henry's death in the Civil War. He received pension payments for the daughters of $8 per month starting October 31, 1864; $12 per month starting July 25, 1866; and $10 per month from September 1, 1871 to May 1, 1875 (payments for each daughter ended when they became 16 years old).      Isaac was born at New Jersey circa 1815. The marriage record Isaac and Jane recorded in Hackettstown notes his age as 35 (b. ca 1819) while the marriage recorded in Independence Twp. reflects an age of 44 (b. 1810).. He was the son of William Schenck. He married Jane V. Sutton at Hackettstown, Warren County, New Jersey, on 25 December 1854.¹
