     Bessie E. Sutton was born on 3 March 1887 at Glen Gardner, Lebanon Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Silas R. Sutton and Emma C. Drake. She married Martin W. Apgar circa 1902 at New Jersey. She married Pardon Castino Hoffman circa 1917 at New Jersey. She died on 21 October 1952 at High Bridge, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.¹ She was buried on 25 October 1952 at Evergreen Cemetery, Clinton, Clinton Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.¹

     Mrs. Bessie E. Sutton Hoffman, 65, wife of Pardon Hoffman, died yesterday afternoon at her home, 4 Union avenue, High Bridge, after a brief illness.
     Mrs. Hoffman was born in Glen Gardner, March 3, 1887, the daughter of the late Silas R. and Emma Drake Sutton. She lived in Phillipsburg before moving to High Bridge more than 50 years ago. She was married twice.
     Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three children, Ernest Apgar and Mrs. Esther A. Hockenbury, both of High Bridge, and Sheldon Hoffman, of Flemington; four grandchildren, and a brother, Percy Sutton, of Phillipsburg.
     Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Trimmer's memorial funeral home, Clinton. The Rev. Lyman H. Seamans, pastor of High Bridge Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Evergreen cemetery, Clinton. on 22 October 1952.¹
