     Jacob Davis was born on 16 June 1862 at White House, Readington Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.1 He was the son of John Davis and Catherine M. Dilts. He married Mattie Sutton at White House, Readington Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, on 23 November 1918. At the time of this marriage, Jacob resided at 227 Rahway Ave., Elizabeth, NJ and Mattie at White House.2 Jacob died on 3 July 1953 at Quakertown Community Hospital, Quakertown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, at age 91.3 His body was interred on 7 July 1953 at White House, Readington Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, at Rural Hill Cemetery.3

     Jacob Davis, 91, of Easton road, Riegelsville, Bucks County, died Friday night at Quakertown Community Hospital. He had been a patient there about a week.

     Mr. Davis was born in Whitehouse, N.J. He lived in Riegelsville since retiring 18 years ago as an employe of the International Nickel Company, Bayonne, N.J. He worked there about 40 years. He was of the Methodist faith.

     Surviving are a daughter, Miss Eleanor E. Davis, at home, and a brother, Bergen Davis, of New York City. His wife, Mattie, died last September.

     Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the R. W. Snyder funeral home, Riegelsville. The Rev. Paul H. Cleichman, pastor of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Riegelsville, will officiate. Interment will be in Rural Hills cemetery, Whitehouse. on 6 July 1953.3

His estate was inventoried in April 1740.2
     Moses Sutton lived between 1736 and 1737 at Lamberton, Somerset County, New Jersey; The Janeway Account Books note Moses, Nov 36 - Jly 37, of Lamberton; d Robert Allen; d to Cornelius Sleight; his son Nov 36, Apr 37; he also d to Abraham Sleight. (GMNJ, Vol XXXV, Nr. 1, Jan 1960, p. 45). Moses and Yanick resided in Piscataway, New Jersey prior to moving to Peapack, New Jersey. (Will of Andrew Drake, yeoman of Piscataway, NJ, dated 16 Sep 1742 states: "Lands bought of Moses and Jean Sutton and James Pyatt"...)
