     LT. Uriah Sutton was born on 21 July 1741 at North Branch, Branchburg Township, Somerset County, New Jersey.1,2 He was the son of Zebulon Sutton and Mary Doty. He married Elizabeth Bockever at New Jersey circa 1772. Uriah died on 3 February 1840 at Bound Brook, Somerset County, New Jersey, at age 98.3
     LT. Uriah Sutton began military service in June 1776 at Somerset County, New Jersey.4 He a member of the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church between 1783 and 1786.5 Uriah applied for a military pension at Somerset County, New Jersey, on 27 August 1832. In June 1776, Uriah Sutton entered the service of the Revolutionary War, under Capt. Ward or Ford, and then served under Capt. John Lindsley as a private militia man. He was assigned as orderly sergeant and then appointed Lieutenant in 1778 when a vacancy occurred in the company. He served in Elizabethtown and was also stationed at Morristown. While in the service here, saw a prisoner hanged for an attempt to steal a valuable horse of Doctor Leddel of Morris County. In 1780 he enlisted with his team for the purpose of supplying General Handy's brigade with provisions for Morristown.
Uriah was blind for nearly thirty years before his death. He resided for a time with his son, Stephen. He also mentions his son-in-law, Barnet Doty.

     Peter was born at Basking Ridge, Bernard Township, Somerset County, New Jersey, circa 1743. He was the son of Zebulon Sutton and Mary Doty. He married Phoebe Kinnan, daughter of Thomas Kinnan and Mary Savery, circa 1768. He died circa 1829 at Indiana County, Pennsylvania.
     Peter Sutton a member of the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Chuch between 1783 and 1786.1 He moved in 1796 at Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.2 He left a will on 23 January 1827 at Indiana, Indiana County, Pennsylvania.3

     Joseph Sutton was born on 9 July 1747 at New Jersey.1 He was the son of Zebulon Sutton and Mary Doty. He married Margaret (Martha) ? on 14 April 1778 at Hanover, Hanover Township, Morris County, New Jersey.2 He died on 8 November 1822 at Mendham, Mendham Township, Morris County, New Jersey, of dysentry.3,4
     Served in Revolution (see Sutton Searchers, Issue 7, Oct 1992).
Birth, marriage and death dates derived from family Bible. (Bible was in possession of wife following Joseph's death.). He a member of the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church between 1783 and 1786.5 He made a will at Mendham Township, Morris County, New Jersey, on 23 October 1822. Joseph applied for a military pension at Morris County, New Jersey, on 4 October 1836.6
