Trimmer Aller
M, d. after 1872
Trimmer Aller married Jane Sutton, daughter of Jonas Sutton and Mary A. Besson, on 29 November 1865 at Ringoes, East Amwell Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.1 He died after 1872 at New Jersey.
Trimmer was noted in Court case reported in the newspaper on 9 December 1873. The article read:
Court:
William Aller vs. Trimmer Aller, et al. This was an action upon a promissory note for $500, payable to Henry T. Quirk, purporting to be signed by Trimmer Aller and William Sutton, and endorsed by the plaintiff. Trimmer Aller and William Sutton were partners in the distilling business in Readington township, and being obliged to borrow money to pay their tax, it was alleged by Aller that Sutton wished him to procure the money, and gave him authority to sign a noted, and that he did sign Sutton's and his own to this note, gave his father for security, procured the money of Quirk. Afterwards the plaintiff took up the note, and brought suit. Sutton filed a plea, and contended that he had given no authority to Aller to sign his name to the note, but that it was the understanding that Trimmer Aller was to raise this money himself. The Court charged the jury that if the money for which the note was given, was used for the firm, Aller had a perfect right to sign the name of his partner thereto. Verdict for plaintiff, for amount of note.2
