Lewis (Martin) Sutton was born circa January 1868 at Morris County, New Jersey; Birth date derived from marriage record. 1900 census notes birth as Jan 1870. He was the son of Wesley Sutton and Mary Ann Ader. He married Radie Mary Clawson, daughter of John Clawson and Alice Castine, on 2 November 1897 at Tewksbury Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.1 Lewis died on 24 September 1916 at Washington Township, Morris County, New Jersey.2 His body was interred on 28 September 1916 at Lower Valley, Tewksbury Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.
The death certificate for Luther notes parents as Wesley Sutton and Mary Ann Beam. Unless Wesley was married before Mary Ann Ader this is probably incorrect. Luther's burial in Lower Valley agrees with the burial of said brothers. Luther was married at time of death. He appeared on the census of 17 June 1880 in the household of Henry W. Beam at Washington Township, Morris County, New Jersey; Luther, Lyman and Linlow have the Beam surname in the 1880 Census.3 He appeared on the census of 16 June 1900 at Tewksbury Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey; Couple noted having 1 child, living.4 He was Lewis was crippled and couldn't work in April 1910.5 He appeared on the census of 28 April 1910 at Califon Road, Middle Valley Village, Washington Township, Morris County, New Jersey.6 He appeared on the census of 10 June 1915 at Philhower, Washington Township, Morris County, New Jersey.7
