WESTMINSTER, Md. - William Sutton died Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at home. He was 83.
He was a former High Bridge area resident.
He was a son of Ross J. Sr. and Lillian Sutton. He was the husband of Shirley Morrow Sutton, his wife of 63 years. He was born on, and worked on, the family farm in New Jersey. He graduated from a one-room school, attended High Bridge High School and graduated from Northrup Aeronautical School in Englewood, Calif.
He then worked at Morristown Airport and piloted his own Cessna plane. He later was employed at the Thomas J. Lipton plant in Raritan Township.
Mr. Sutton was a member of the New Jersey fire company and various bowling teams. He was also a member of Fairmount Presbyterian Church and attended Pipe Creek Church of the Brethren in Union Bridge, Md.
He was an avid golfer, wood craftsman and chair caner. He enjoyed trailering countrywide and wintering at Saddlebag Adult Resort in Lake Wales, Fla., where he served on the board of directors.
He was predeceased by brothers Ross J. Jr. and Everett Sutton.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughters Jill Perzynski of Annapolis, Md. and Jan Beltrand of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; grandchildren Holly Perzynski of Washington state, Todd Perzynski and wife Wendy of Maryland and Brandon and Natalie Beltrand of Arizona; and a brother, Kenneth Sutton of Arkansas.
