Obituary
Warren Glen Man Dies As Vehicle Skids On Milford Road
John Sutton, 47, of Warren Glen, Bloomsbury R.D., was killed instantly yesterday afternoon when the light truck he was driving skidded into a utility service pole on the Milford-Warren Glen road.
Troopers John Smith and Stanley Prusek, of the Flemington state police station, said that Sutton's truck skidded on the wet road on a sharp curve at the foot of the Riegel Ridge hill.
Sutton, who was traveling northward, was on his way home after making a delivery for Hummer's feed store, Bloomsbury, by whom he had been employed for the last year.
Dr. William E. McCorkle, Hunterdon County physician reported that Sutton died of a fractured skull. The body was taken to the Johnson funeral home, Frenchtown, and later removed to the Rush funeral home, Bloomsbury.
Sutton is survived by his wife, Clara DeHart Sutton, four sisters, Mrs. Anna Blazure, of Gladstone; Mrs. Lydia Patton and Mrs. Lester Smith, of Pattenburg; and Mrs. James Horton, of Somerville, and two brother, Abe and Harvey Sutton, both of Pattenburg. Prior to going to work in the feed store, Sutton was engaged in farming.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Rush funeral home, with the Rev. Harry Howard, pastor of Bloomsbury Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Bloomsbury cemetery.
Burial Notes:
Buried in the Bloomsbury Cemetery.
