Charles Sutton, 65, of Madison Street, Newton, died Weds. of last week at Newton Memorial Hospital.  He was stricken while at work as operator of the elevator at Sussex & Merchants' National Bank Building, Newton, in the afternoon and taken to the hospital in the ambulance.  He died a few hours later.  He was employed by the New Jersey Zinc Co., at Franklin for several years, and for about five years had been elevator operator in the bank building.  He was born near Brighton, a son of Charles and Phoebe A. Auble Sutton.  His wife, Katherine Frace Sutton, died about 25 years ago.  He was a member of Ivy Lodge I.O.O.F and Nomonock Tribe of Red Men, of Newton.  The surviving  relatives are a cousin, George Cook, of Newton and an aunt, Mrs. Ila Auble, of Johnsonburg.  Funeral services at Iliff Funeral Home, Newton.
