Obituary
Charles W. Sutton, 65, of 111 W. Valley View Ave., Hackettstown, died this morning at his home after a long illness.
Mr. Sutton was a former automobile mechanic and at one time operated a service station in Hackettstown. He was last employed as a clerk by Knapps Stationary Store, Hackettstown.
Born Dec. 8, 1902, in Washington, N.J., he resided in Hackettstown 40 years.
Mr. Sutton was a member and a past grand tall cedar of Warren County Forest 14, Tall Cedars of Lebanon; a past district deputy of District 8, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and a charter member of Rainbow Court 50, Order of the Amaranth, Hackettstown.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Hacketttstown; Independence Lodge 42, F&A.M., Hackettstown; Royal Arch Masons, Washington; Demolay Commandery 6, Knights Templar, Washington; Past Officers Club of District 8, Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Star of the East, Chapter 12, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Belvidere.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of Blue Ridge Post 164, American Legion, Hackettstown, and the Exempt Fireman's Association, Hackettstown.
Survivors include his widow, the former Blanche Marvin; four brothers, John, Washington; Nelson, Orxford; Franklin, High Bridge; and Elmer, Ontario Center, N.Y.; and two sisters, Mrs. Frances Lombado and Miss Margaret K. Sutton both of Belvidere.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Metzler Funeral Home, Hackettstown.
