Obituary
Robert Mac Sutton, 89, of Fairton passed away at home Sunday morning, Feb. 20, 2011.
He was the husband of Julia (nee Tinklepaugh) Sutton and they had been married for 68 years. Born in Bridgeton, he was the son of the late Clarence and Carolyn Reeves (nee Scythes) Sutton and was a longtime resident of Fairton.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Janice Jillson (Warren) and Donna Halstead (Daniel); four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Robert Mac Sutton, age 89, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 211, at his home in Fairton.
Born in Bridgeton on Jan. 23, 1922, he was son of the late Clarence Sutton and Carolyn Scythes Sutton and was a life-long resident of Fairton.
Robert served in the Army of the United States, 48th Amored Infantry Battalion, 7th Armored Division during WW II where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded a WWII Victory Medal, a Good Conduct Medal, and a Purple Heart Medal, among others. He worked as a machinist for Seibel & Stern, Morvay, and M.C. Schrank in Bridgeton. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle, he is missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Tinklepaugh Sutton, with whom he celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on February 13; daughter, Janice Jillson (and husband Warren Jillson, Jr.) of Pittsgrove; daughter, Donna Halstead (and husband Daniel Halstead Sr.) of Fairton; grandchildren, Holly Beveridge of North Carolina, Daniel Halstead, Jr. (and wife Tina) of Ohio, Jessica Jackson (and husband Chris) of Pennsylvania, and Paul Halstead (and wife Kelly) of New Hampshire; great-grandchildren, Calvin Beveridge, Maura Halstead, Tyler Halstead, Barbara Jean Priem, Riley Beveridge, Jonathan Cameron, Jeremy Halstead, Abigail Halstead and Declan Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by brothers, Leon, D. Lester, James, and Clarence Sutton; and sister Ann Sutton Barford.
The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, at the FREITAG FUNERAL HOME, 137 W. Commerce Street, Bridgeton, with memorial services at 11 a.m.
A graveside service will follow at Fernwood Memorial Cemetery.
