•  Her obituary was published on 24 Nov 1951. Sarah Sutton 78 years old, wife of Peter Petty, of Vienna Road, Route 6 near Hackettstown, died yesterday at her home. She was born in NJ, parents were William T. Sutton and Anna E. Hoffman Sutton. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church (Hackettstown), the P. O. of A., Sons and Daughters of Liberty, the Margaret Campbell Circle, Ladies of the GAR, and the Ladies Aid Society of the Mt. Bethel Church. She was the Pomona of the Hackettstown Grange. Survived by her husband and six children: Lewis, Robert, William, Nathaniel, Mrs. Norma Hartman (all of Hackettstown), and Mrs. Grace Hamilton of Orosi, CA. Also survived by brothers Holloway and Wesley Sutton of Hackettstown, sister Lillie Hoover of Hackettstown, sister Amanda Wire of Union, NJ; and 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services held Nov. 27, 1951 in the Cochran funeral home in Hackettstown. Interment in Pequest Union cemetery in Great Meadows.
