Obituary
Walton Sutton, 86, of Berry Drive in Lebanon Township, N.J., died Thursday in Hunterdon Medical Center.
He made baskets by hand at the Califon Basket Co. for more than 60 years. Before that, he worked at the former Taylor-Wharton Iron and Steel Co. in High Bridge, N.J.
Born Oct. 23, 1903, in Califon, N.J., he was a son of the late Lyman and Annie Trimmer Sutton. He lived in Califon most of his life, moving to Lebanon Township five years ago.
He and his wife, the former Grace Apgar, celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in October.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Arthur of Kingston, N.Y., and Rodney of Georgetown, Calif.; four daughters, Blanche Burd of Lebanon Township, Dorothy Borowee of Newfield, N.J., Linda Lowe of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Sharon Sutton of Sonoma, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Coughlin Funeral Home in Califon. Interment will be in Lower Valley Union Cemetery in Califon.
