Obituary
SUTTON, C., MARGARET, (Nee Holladay) 82, of Bridgeton, died Friday evening at the Cumberland Manor in Hopewell Township where she had been a resident for the past three years. She had been in declining health for the past few months.
The wife of the late Eugene L. Sutton, Sr., who died in 1997, she was born in Greenwich and was the daughter of the late Samuel and Emily Sheppard Holladay. She was a lifetime resident of the area had lived in Bridgeton on Cottage Avenue and Columbus Avenue for several years before entering the nursing home.
She had worked as a seamstress at the former Rovner Department Store in Bridgeton for several years and following that was a homemaker.
Mrs. Sutton attended Woodstown and Bridgeton High Schools before graduating from Salem High School. She was a member of the Quinton Baptist Church and was a former summer resident of Fortescue.
She was the president of the Cumberland Manor Residents Association.
Survivors include one son, Lee Sutton of Carmel; two grandchildren: Michael L. Sutton and Amy K. Goguen both of Naples, Fl.; one great grandson, Jake Goguen; three sisters: Isabel Hampton of Pedricktown, Emily Corson of Quinton Township and Bessie Hildreth of Bridgeton and two brothers: Howard Holladay of Pilesgrove Township and Norwood Holladay of Woodstown.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock at Overlook Cemetery, Greenwich Road, Bridgeton. Pastor John Carmen visiting pastor of the Quinton Baptist Church will officiate.
The interment will follow the services.
At the family's request there will be no public viewing.
Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton.
