General:

Cousin James Thompson, Jr. hired Mr. Robert Barrett to conduct research on the Jones line. According to Mr. Barrett, John Jefferys was a carpenter in the British garrison at Gibraltar and died during the siege. He was married to a women named Anne and had child, Susannah who returned to England following her father's death. John converted to Roman Catholicism before being killed. His widow remained Anglican and married a younger man, Robert Watson, who was also a carpenter at the garrison. John left a will which Robert Barrett is having copied.
