Funeral services of Howard S. Sutton, age about 65 years, of Fairmount, were held Saturday afternoon at the Fairmount Presbyterian Church, conducted by Rev. Mr. Depew. Mr. Sutton died Wednesday after a long illness. He was born at Fairmount and was the son of the late George B. Sutton, of Fairmount, a storekeeper. For several years Howard Sutton was postmaster at Fairmount and was engaged in the mercantile business at Califon and later at Fairmount. he also operated several farms. He married Miss Emma Anderson, of Spring Valley, who survives, with three daughters, Mrs. George Bush, of Whitehouse; Mrs. Howard Apgar, of Mountainville, and Mrs. James Lance, of Fairmount. He also leaves one brother, Harmon Sutton, of Califon, and one sister, Mrs. Melissa Intes, of Henry, Ill. He was a member of the Knights of Golden Eagles, of Califon, and of the I.O.O.F., of High Bridge. Interment was made in the Fairmount Presbyterian Cemetery.

Mr. Sutton died Thursday after a long illness. He was born at Fairmount and spent his entire life in that section. He engaged in the general mercantile business at Califon and later at Fairmount. He also operated several farms there. For several years he was postmaster at Fairmount. He married Miss Erma Anderson, who survives, with three daughters: Mrs. George Bush, of Whitehouse, Mrs. Howard Apgar of Mountainville and Mrs. James Lance of Fairmount. He also leaves a brother and sister, Harmon Sutton of Califon and Mrs. Melissa Intes, of Henry, Ill. Burial was made in the Fairmount Presbyterian cemetery.
