Mr. and Mrs. Israel S. Sutton will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary tonight at their home, 414 Market Street.  The home has been in the hands of the decorators today and it presents a beautiful appearance for the event tonight.  The decorations consist of choice palms and cut flowers.  The color scheme is green and yellow.  Music will be furnished during the evening by a local orchestra.  The lawn will be illuminated with Japanese lanterns and if the weather is clear tonight the refreshments will be served there.
The reception will be held from 8 o'clock on and Mrs. Sutton will be assisted in receiving by her five daughters and her daughter-in-law, Mrs. William Pratt, Mrs. John Lee, Mrs. Edward Sutton, Mrs. Wesley Armstrong, Mrs. Morris Ely and Mrs. Herbert Williams.
Mr. and Mrs. Sutton were married August 5, 1860, at the parsonage of the Second Presbyterian Church by the Rev. A. D. White, then pastor of Second Church.  Mr. and Mrs. Sutton were both born and raised in Trenton and have lived here all their lives.
They are both active members and workers of the Central M. E. Church, Mr. Sutton being one of the Stewards for years.  Mr. Sutton is also a member of Trenton Lodge, No. 5, F. & A. M.
Mr. Sutton served his country during the Civil War, enlisting in Company I, Eighth New Jersey, Second Bridgade, and served until the close of the war.  He is now a member of Post No. 23, G.A.R. and Mrs. Sutton is one of the active members of Aaron Wilkes Relief Corps. No. 7.
Besides the six children, Mr. and Mrs. Sutton have fourteen grandchildren.
Mr. Sutton is a well known contractor, having followed this business about 43 years.
About 150 invitations have been issued for tonight's celebration and the couple have received numerous beautiful and costly presents.

Death Notes:

Israel S. Sutton of 414 Market Street died at 6 o'clock his morning of paralysis in the seventy-third year of his age. He was unconscious since last Tuesday afternoon. He was in his usual health up to the time he was stricken, and was talking to two men at his front door a few minutes before the attack. He was a well known contractor and had been in business for many years. His activities continued until the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna M. Sutton; five daughters, Mrs. William H. Pratt, Mrs. John N. Lee, Mrs. C. W. Armstrong, Mrs. Morris H. Ely, Mrs. H. D. Willaims; one sone, Edwin S. Sutton, who was associated with him in business, as well as a sister, Mrs. Emma Hankinson, widow of Charles Hankinson.
Mr. Sutton served his country during the Civil War, enlisting in Company I, Eight New Jersey, Second
Brigade, and served until the close of the war. He was a member of Post No. 23, G.A.R. and Trenton Lodge, No. 5 F. and A.M.
The funeral will be held at 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon from his late home. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery, under direction of Ashmore & Margerum.
