LITTLE GIRL
A little baby girl has taken up her residence with Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Sutton, Broad street. She has been named Margaretta for Mrs. Sutton's mother, Mrs. Margaretta Rice. Mr. Sutton is the junior member of the firm of William G. Sutton & Sons, Commerce and Laurel Streets.

Obituary
Margaret Sutton Sheppard, 97, of Bridgeton, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday evening, Oct. 6, 2011 surrounded by her family at the S.J. Healthcare-Hospice Inpatient Center in Bridgeton following a brief illness.
The wife of the late William T. Sheppard Jr. who passed away in 1982, she was born in Bridgeton and was the daughter of the late Leroy N. and Amelia Sutton (nee Rice). She was a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. Sheppard worked as a bank teller for over 16 years at the Cumberland National Bank in Bridgeton and also at the First National Bank in Cape May Court House and Rio Grande. After retirement she actively attended luncheons for retired bankers.
Margaret was a selfless woman who donated much of her time. She had served as a volunteer for the Bridgeton Hospital from 1983 to 2002. Until recently, she volunteered her office services once a month at South Jersey Water Conditioning Service in Hopewell Township.
She embraced life and the greatest joy in Margaret's life was her family, especially spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved bowling, crafts, crocheting, reading and trips to the ocean and beach. She was a member of the "Senior Class" and "RSVP" groups as well.
Mrs. Sheppard was a longtime member of the Berean Baptist Temple in Bridgeton, having been baptized in 1927. She was the oldest member of the church.
She is survived by four children, William T. Sheppard III and his wife Sandy of Cary, N.C., Ann Garrison and her husband, Jack of Upper Deerfield Township, N.J., Leroy S. Sheppard and his wife, Polly of Lake Panasoffkee, Fla., and Neil H. Sheppard and his wife, Jill of Harrisonburg, Va.; nine grandchildren, Pamela French (Larry), Patti Campbell and William T. Sheppard IV, all of Harrisonburg, Va., Debi Podley (Bill) of Cape Coral, Fla., Penny Davis (Brian) of Canton, N.J., Darren Sheppard of Venice, Fla., Janine McClure (Bill), Michele Haldane (Glen) and Angela Hammond (Bo) all of Harrisonburg, Va.; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Jeanette Mulford of Hopewell Township. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Elizabeth Horowitz and Alice Sutton.
Friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday morning, Oct. 12, at 11 oÕclock at the Berean Baptist Temple, 68 Vine St., in Bridgeton with Rev. Donald K. Harrington officiating.
The interment will take place at Overlook Cemetery in Bridgeton.
Friends will be received at the church between 10 and 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Sheppard's memory to the Berean Baptist Temple, 68 Vine St., Bridgeton, NJ 08302 or to S.J. Healthcare-Hospice Care, P.O. Box 160, Bridgeton, NJ 08302 or to the charity of one's own choice.
