Obituary
Robert Sutton, 69, of Louis Lane, Hackettstown, died Friday at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Lyons, N.J.
He worked as a laborer for the Warren County Road Department for many years before retiring in 1977.
Born May 18, 1917, in Beattystown, N.J., he was a son of the late Charles and Helen Angleman Sutton. He lived in the Hackettstown area all his life.
Mr. Sutton, a U.S. Army veteran, served in World War II and was a prisoner of war in Germany for two years. He received the Purple Heart.
He was a member of Blue Ridge Post 164, American Legion, Hackettstown.
Surviving are his wife, the former Pierrette Artagnan; two sons, Robert Jr., Hackettstown, and Michael Rinaldi, Miramar, Fla.; a daughter, Carole Ann Murphy, Meriden, Conn.; 13 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Cochran Funeral Home, Hackettstown. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Hackettstown.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The American Legion service will be at 8 p.m. Monday at the home.
Buried in Union Cemetery.
