Obituary
Alvah Sutton, 76, of 20 Pleasant avenue, Phillipsburg, died last night at his home after a six months' illness.
Mr. Sutton, janitor for the past 10 years at First Baptist Church, Phillipsburg, was employed for some time at the old American Horseshoe Works, Phillipsburg.
He was a native of Vienna, N.J., but had lived in Phillipsburg for 54 years.
He is survived by his wife, the former Ella Hockenbury; a daughter, Miss Eva Sutton, of New York City; five sons, John serving with the U.S. Army in Germany; Kenneth, of Lepstic, O.; and Russell, Raymond and Earl, of Phillipsburg; a brother, John, of California; a sister, Mrs. Clarence Fulmer, of Delaware Park; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
